Lillian De Bortoli

Lillian De Bortoli

Ms Lillian De Bortoli joined Child Abuse Prevention Research Australia in 2000. Her qualifications include BAppSci (RMIT) and BA (Flinders University). In 2000, Lillian was awarded the John Barry Medal for academic achievement upon completion of the PostGradDipArts (Criminology) at the University of Melbourne.

In 2008 she completed her MSW (Research) entitled, “Towards effective child abuse prevention: Strengthening the public health approach”. Since joining the Centre, Lillian has worked on several projects including public perceptions of child abuse, language in the media and child abuse related trauma.

Her research interests are child abuse prevention and the intersection of substance abusing parents and child abuse. She is currently working on a project at a major hospital studying parental substance abuse and the risk of child abuse.
