Child Abuse Research Australia

Child Abuse Research Australia is a strategic collaboration between the Australian Childhood Foundation and Monash University (Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences).

We believe that the majority of cases of child abuse, neglect and murder are preventable. We further believe the rights of the child are as important as the rights of parents. Our goal is to provide evidence-based advice to government and child health and welfare organizations to guide the development of policies and practices aimed at dramatically reducing the rate of child abuse, neglect and murder.

Unwarranted cruelty
Chris Goddard, Susie Latham and Linda Briskman

THERE have been highs and lows, heroes and villains, in Australia's treatment of refugees. In recent years, the heroes have been hard to find. This is why, in Human Rights Overboard, published this week, we are calling for a royal commission into every aspect of immigration policy.
